[DAY1] 20 Nov, 11:00 - 12:00 (Grand Ballroom A+B)
The main event of the opening day of WHCF 2023, the ‘A-G-B Summit’, took place on the main stage immediately after the opening ceremony.
The 'A-G-B Summit' is a special session where various stakeholders, including academia (A), a group of scholars and experts, government (G), which includes central and city governments, and business (B), discuss and seek ‘integrated solutions' to solve the complex crises currently facing humanity. President KIM Eun Mee, President of Ewha Womans University and co-organizer of the forum, represented academia; Kim Jin-yong, Commissioner of Incheon Economic Zone, a member of the Forum's organizing committee, represented the city government; and Kim Hyeyoung, Vice President & Head of Smart City Innovation Group, Hyundai Motor Group, along with Choi Kyu-nam, Senior Vice President of Solutions Business Team, LG Electronics, represented businesses.
"Mega risks such as the recent pandemic and climate crisis are, first, occurring simultaneously; second, they are interacting with each other and escalating the crisis, and third, it is becoming more difficult to find solutions due to this interaction and interdependence," said KIM Eun Mee, who served as the moderator of the summit. "In the end, it is imperative to find complex solutions through the participation of various stakeholders and cooperation and coordination between various sectors to respond to these complex crises."
In the roundtable that followed, Mr. Kyu-Nam Choi, Executive Vice President of LG Electronics, introduced LG's smart home platform project, 'LG ThinQ,' highlighting the increasing consumer demand and expectations for 'health' and 'safety' in future smart cities amidst the uncertainties
and concerns arising from the next pandemic and climate crisis. He mentioned, "As anxieties and concerns about natural disasters and emergencies due to the next pandemic and climate crisis escalate, consumer demand and expectations for 'health' and 'safety' are predicted to increase even more in future smart cities." He added, "As 'LG of Home Appliances,' we are particularly focusing on the smart home among future smart cities. Through our smart home platform 'ThinQ,' we plan to provide and evolve a 'total solution' that integrates personalized care services for the entire care service within the home, based on digital infrastructure and data, not only traditional healthcare and medical services."
